Competitors of GNCTR 2010 will stay at the Sheraton Hamilton Hotel, at 116 King Street West, Hamilton, Ontario. The Sheraton is located in the heart of the downtown Hamilton business district, connected to Copps Coliseum, the Hamilton Convention Centre, and two shopping malls, a short bus ride from the beautiful McMaster campus, and just steps away from the Art Gallery of Hamilton and the famous Hess Villiage, a centralized hub for restaurants, clubs, and bars in historic buildings surrounded by cobblestone streets. Competitors will stay in rooms facing either Lake Ontario or the Niagara Escarpment, both key features of Hamilton’s unique landscape.

We have established a group discount with the Sheraton, so be sure to mention that you are with the Great Northern Concrete Toboggan Race. Room rates are $129 CDN (plus 5% GST, 5% PST and a 3% room tax) per night. This rate applies to single, double, triple or quad occupancy.

GNCTR 2010 has partnered with TravelHangar, a student-focused travel company, as the official travel agency of GNCTR 2010. If you wish, TravelHangar will work with you to arrange transportation for your team traveling to and from the competition. Although it is completely up to you, we suggest that you look into booking your travel through TravelHangar for the following reasons:
- Last year TravelHangar was able to save GNCTR teams over $10,000 due to their negotiated reduced rates on airfare and bus requirements for this competition.
- They really make booking your travel easy and will do much of the work for you.
- They have flexible booking terms for teams. For airfare, this will likely involve only a $50 deposit per passenger being required at the time of booking and passenger names not being needed until 14 days prior to departure. This allows teams to book early to ensure low fares without having to put a lot of money down and being able to book before all team members are finalized.
- They will endeavour to provide group check-in for participating teams whenever possible.
